フーコーは、今やこういうものを用いて人々を統制できるはずだと述べている： “tiny, everyday, physical mechanisms, by all those systems of micro-power that are essentially non-egalitarian and asymmetrical” （ごくわずかな力で動く、そもそも平等主義に反した非対称なあらゆるシステムを用いた、ちっぽけで日常的な物理的メカニズム） これはまさにTwitterそのものの話をしているかのようで、驚かされた。
